Dream Series

Dream spaces shift and flow but still retain some structure of real places . The objects in these scenes become Jungian, mythic, and collective in addition to being highly personal.

This body of work has moved beyond illustrating the physical confines of a room. The angles and limits broke down as the work progressed and what remains on the canvas is more like a field, a vibrational energy through color rather than a defined space. The symbolic objects still exist within the field, but it’s unclear if they are grounded within it or if they exist on a separate plane or layer of the piece. The relationship between the objects and the color field is similar to the subjective experience of spaces. It’s not only what is physically within the space but also the psychic energy that permeates throughout. Are these two realities on the same dimensional plane?
